Who He Is

"If I'm opening up, I give 100 percent and there's no turning back."

Dr. Aditya Malhotra trained as a dentist twice — first earning his Bachelor of Dental Surgery at Government Dental College & Hospital in Amritsar, India in 2013, then completing his DMD at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine through their International Program in 2018. Both programs shaped how he practices: the clinical depth of a dual-trained dentist with the communication precision of someone who had to earn patient trust from the ground up.

At Rutgers, he was awarded the American Academy of Implant Dentistry Award — given to the fourth-year student demonstrating the most interest and achievement in implant dentistry, academically and clinically. He also holds a certification in the Design and Interpretation of Clinical Trials — a reflection of his genuine interest in how evidence shapes clinical decisions.

Since 2018, he's built a patient base through straightforward care: thorough exams, honest options, and the kind of explanation that makes patients leave understanding their own mouths. He speaks English, Hindi, and Punjabi, and sees patients across a full range of needs at Riverdale Dental in West Springfield, MA.

How He Practices

A way of working
that puts
clarity first.

These aren't marketing positions. They're the habits that define how Dr. Malhotra actually spends his time with patients.

Diagnosis before recommendation

No treatment plan leaves this office without a thorough understanding of what's actually present. Observation comes before anything else.

Conservative when conservative is right

Not every finding requires immediate intervention. When monitoring is the correct approach, that's what gets recommended — even when it means less chair time.

Plain language, always

Every finding and every option is explained in language that assumes intelligence, not prior dental training. You shouldn't need a glossary to understand your own mouth.

Aesthetic awareness in every procedure

Every clinical decision considers both function and appearance. That's not an add-on — it's a standard of care that follows through every procedure.

No decisions under pressure

Patients are never asked to commit at the first appointment. Findings are shared, options are explained, and the timeline belongs to the patient.

In His Own Words

"I chose dentistry because it doesn't have any boundaries — there's always something new to learn. And when you're genuinely learning, you're genuinely helping."

— Dr. Aditya Malhotra, DMD

Dr. Malhotra trained as a dentist in India before coming to the United States — a path that required him to prove himself twice, in two different systems, across two different cultures of care. That experience built something hard to train directly: a genuine understanding of what it means for a patient to feel uncertain, and a commitment to replacing that uncertainty with clarity.

At Rutgers he was recognised across multiple disciplines — clinical implant dentistry, prosthodontics, professional conduct, and humanitarian practice. He raised funds for domestic violence charities as the first-ever Mr. RSDM, won on charm and magic tricks. The awards reflect the range: technically precise and genuinely human at the same time.

Outside the clinic, he plays guitar and piano, practices calligraphy, does yoga and meditation, and has a serious interest in photography. The calligraphy is telling — it takes the same qualities as exceptional dentistry: a steady hand, an aesthetic eye, and the patience to do things right the first time.

How He Thinks

Three ideas that shape
every appointment.

Understand before you act

A diagnosis that's rushed is incomplete. Taking time at the front end makes everything that follows more accurate and more considered.

Explain until it's actually clear

Not a summary. A real conversation about what's happening, until the patient genuinely understands and feels comfortable asking questions.

Do only what's genuinely needed

The right treatment, for the right reason, at the right time. Conservative care, when it's the correct call, is the highest standard — not a compromise.

Outside the Clinic

The things that
inform the work.

The same qualities that make someone precise in dentistry tend to show up elsewhere. In Dr. Malhotra's case, they show up in calligraphy — a steady hand, an aesthetic eye, the patience to do things right the first time. And in a few other places worth knowing about.

Calligraphy

Precision, patience, and aesthetic intention — practiced with ink before it's practiced with instruments.

Guitar & Piano

Two instruments that reward consistency, discipline, and a good ear — the same qualities that make a careful clinician.

Yoga & Meditation

The calm in the office doesn't happen by accident. It's practiced.

Magic

Won Mr. RSDM on the strength of charm and sleight of hand. Still knows a few tricks.

Photography

An eye for composition, light, and the detail that makes the difference — useful in dentistry too.

Patient Perspectives

in their own words.
